Lisa’s Insurance Agency is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. I serve a lot of clients over the age of 65, and keeping this site easy to read and simple to operate is part of doing that job well.

The standard I aim for

This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are the recognised standard for making web content more accessible, and they explain how to make a site easier to perceive, operate and understand.

What that means on this site

• Text is set at a large, legible size and never in low-contrast grey.
• The whole site can be operated with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
• Menus, forms and controls carry labels that screen readers can announce.
• Motion is reduced automatically for anyone whose device asks for it.
• The layout reflows to any screen size without loss of content or function.

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is not a one-time fix. I review the site as it changes and work to correct any barriers that come to light. Some content provided by third parties (for example, an embedded scheduling calendar) is not fully within my control, and where that is the case I will always offer another way to get the same thing done — you can always simply call.
