Dental & Vision

Looking for dental or vision coverage? You can get started today. Here’s how to know if it’s right for you.

  • I just lost coverage

If you recently left a job or a plan ended, several of these plans waive their waiting periods when you enroll soon after, usually within 30 to 60 days.

  • I have a procedure coming up

If you know dental work is ahead, it’s worth checking which plans cover major services and how soon that coverage begins.

  • I want my routine care covered

Cleanings, exams, and eye exams are covered from day one on most of these plans, often at little or no out-of-pocket cost.

  • I need vision coverage

Vision can be added onto a dental plan or purchased on its own, depending on the carrier.

Online enrollment available in 39 states. Not available in CT, VT, UT, HI, WY, WV, RI, NH.

Lisa is very knowledgeable and thorough. She was able to find the one Medicare presciption provider who would cover all my expensive medications. She even went above and beyond trying to find a local eye specialist that is covered under Medicare. I appreciate the extra service and would highly recommend Lisa's Insurance for your Medicare supplement needs!

I am so grateful that Lisa reached out to discuss any needed changes or additions to my current coverage. She was able to find a Medicare supplement plan and a dental/vision plan which decreased premiums, and for the D/V plan, improved coverage. During what turned out to be a very long call, she addressed every question or concern, facilitated the application processes for changes, and exhibited extraordinary patience with my questions and need for repetition. I wish I could add more stars to the rating. Thank you, Lisa, and God bless you!

We started working with Lisa when I became eligible for Medicare. I would not work with anyone else. She has done a fantastic job for my wife and I. She reviews our current needs and makes recommendations based on our needs. She is patient and spends all the time we need to make the right decision on coverage and company. You will not go wrong working with Lisa.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a Medicare Supplement and a Medicare Advantage plan?

A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy works alongside Original Medicare and helps cover costs that Parts A and B don’t. You keep Original Medicare and can see any provider nationwide who accepts it, and you’d add a separate Part D plan for prescriptions. A Medicare Advantage plan delivers your Part A and Part B benefits through a private Medicare-approved company instead, usually with prescription coverage built in and care coordinated through the plan’s network. Which one fits comes down to your doctors, your prescriptions, how much you travel, and how you’d rather handle costs.

Can I keep my own doctors?

With Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement, you can see any provider in the country who accepts Medicare. With a Medicare Advantage plan, care runs through the plan’s network, so it’s important to check that your doctors participate before you enroll. Reviewing your provider list is one of the first things I do with anyone considering Advantage.

When can I enroll or make a change?

Your first opportunity is the seven-month window around your 65th birthday. After that, the Annual Enrollment Period each fall is when most changes to Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are made. If you’re already in a Medicare Advantage plan, the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period from January 1 through March 31 gives you another opportunity to switch. Medicare Supplement plans work differently: you may qualify to make a change at any time of year, though acceptance can depend on health questions once your initial window has passed. Certain life events can also open a Special Enrollment Period.

Do I need a Part D plan if I don’t take any prescriptions right now?

It’s worth considering. If you go 63 days or more without creditable prescription drug coverage after becoming eligible, a late enrollment penalty may be added to your premium if you sign up later, and it can stay with you for as long as you have Medicare drug coverage. Many people enroll in a low-cost plan simply to avoid that.

What happens if I travel or move?

Original Medicare with a Supplement travels well, since any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare will see you. Medicare Advantage plans are built around regional networks, so travel and relocation are worth talking through before you choose. If you move out of your plan’s service area, that generally opens a Special Enrollment Period.

Do I have to be on Medicare to get dental or vision coverage?

No. The dental, vision, and hearing plans I offer are standalone. You can start one at any time of year, on Medicare or not.

I just lost my dental coverage. Do I have to wait to use a new plan?

Not always. Several carriers waive their usual waiting periods if you enroll shortly after losing prior coverage, typically within 30 to 60 days. If you’ve recently lost a plan, it’s worth moving sooner rather than later.

Does it cost extra to work with an agent?

No. Plan premiums are set by the carrier and filed with the state, they’re the same whether you enroll on your own or with my help. Consultation is provided at no cost.
